You’ll obtain a visitor badge at the Sandia Badge Office, located at:
Innovation Parkway Office Center (IPOC), see map
1611 Innovation Parkway SE
Suite A-1 on the 1st floor
Albuquerque, NM 87123
The Badge Office opens at 7:15 a.m. each day.
Important: Sandia National Laboratories requires visitors to present government-issued identification for access to its facilities. State-issued driver’s licenses or ID cards from REAL ID non-compliant states will only be accepted to obtain a badge for access to Sandia if accompanied by an alternate form of ID such as a Social Security Card or a birth certificate.
Non-US citizens must present their passport and current immigration status documents for identification purposes. Immigration status documents include your visa, I-94 card, I-797 notice of approval, I-20, or other documents verifying that you are lawfully present in the United States. If you have questions about what documents to bring, please contact Brian Albarado at email@example.com. Unfortunately, Sandia cannot provide site access without verification of your lawful status documents.
Obtain access to Kirtland Air Force Base (KAFB).
Sandia National Laboratories has offices located both on and off Kirtland Air Force Base (KAFB). Please confirm your interview location with your hosting manager or contact person and make arrangements to get to your interview location.
If your interview will be on KAFB, your host will request a Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) pass for you. Be sure to pick-up your DBIDS pass prior to your interview at the DBIDS office, which is located in Room 2161 of the IPOC Building.
After picking up your DBIDS pass, you will enter KAFB through the Eubank Gate. Be prepared to present your Sandia visitor badge and DBIDS pass to the Security Officer at the gate. You may also be asked to show your driver’s license or state-issued ID card, vehicle registration, proof of insurance and rental car agreement, if applicable. Depending on the level of base security at the time, you may also be asked to provide a second picture ID. Hand-held cell phone use while driving on KAFB is prohibited. Cell phones are prohibited within Sandia’s restricted areas. Please refer to the list of Prohibited Articles at Sandia.
