Health Action Plans
You can join a health action plan and work with an on-site health professional or Virgin Pulse health expert to develop a personalized plan to improve your health or address specific health risks. The health action plan’s programs and challenges are designed in partnership with health experts to help you learn about your health, make smart choices and improve your overall health.
With different types of health action plans to choose from, you can select the plan that best meets your goals. You will complete an intake assessment to evaluate your current health and habits, and meet with a health coach to define your goals. The health coach will then customize an action plan that includes on-site and virtual resources and services.
When you participate in a health action plan, you can earn up to $100 annually for your HRA or HSA and receive Virgin Pulse points too. You receive your $100 credit after your initial appointment with a health coach.
Nourish (for employees only)
The Nourish health action plan focuses on helping you eat healthy.
Nutrition plays a major role in overall health and wellness by strengthening your immune system and reducing your chances of developing many chronic medical conditions. When you eat well, your energy level increases, you feel healthier and stronger, and you handle stress better. We can help you improve your nutritional intake and eating habits, including food quality, meal planning and prepping, and mindful eating.
Move (for employees only)
The Move health action plan helps increase your level of physical activity.
Regular physical activity is one of the best ways to improve your health and overall well-being. Exercise relieves stress, improves mood, increases energy and helps you sleep better. Most medical experts recommend aiming for at least 150 minutes a week of moderate physical activity. When you enroll in this health action plan, you can get help improving your fitness — whether you’re just getting started, looking for ways to stay motivated or training for a triathlon.
Thrive (for employees only)
The Thrive health action plan helps you reach your full potential.
When you enroll in this health action plan, you can develop the skills to thrive, including learning to let go of stressful emotions and maintain calm, create positive emotional moments throughout each day, foster a stronger sense of meaning in your life and nurture your relationships with others.
Recharge (for employees only)
The Recharge health action plan can help improve your sleep and energy.
How you manage sleep and daytime energy are critical for your overall well-being, cognitive performance and long-term health outcomes. If you have trouble getting a good night’s sleep or you struggle with daytime fatigue and lethargy, this health action plan can help you implement strategies that leave you feeling more rested and energized throughout the day.
Healthy Habits (for employees only)
This video-based health action plan helps you set and achieve goals for a healthy, sustainable lifestyle by making small changes to your daily habits.
Research shows that people who set smaller, more attainable behavior goals are more likely to meet and consistently maintain those behaviors. The video series covers the science of habits and behavior change. Armed with this knowledge, you can reflect on how to change your current habits and build daily practices that will help you meet your wellness goals and improve overall health.
You can participate in Healthy Habits anytime. However, if you’re enrolled in the Health Savings Plan or Total Health PPO, you will want to start early enough to complete the plan by Dec. 10 and earn a $100 credit for your HSA or HRA toward the next calendar year.
Although this health action plan does not require you to meet with a health coach, you can always schedule an appointment to delve deeper into your plan or get guidance on specific habits you can implement to meet your goals.
