New Hire Covid-19 information
To help ensure a safe workplace, staff and visitors who come on-site for the first time are required to use the Health Check app prior to entering any Sandia facility.
The health check may be completed in person or online via a personal device.
New hires should submit to the health check upon start beginning on their first day. Any COVID-19 symptoms should be reported the in app and employees must follow the guidance as prompted. Review the New Hire COVID-19 Information to prepare for your first day onsite at Sandia.
As detailed in your tailored onboarding checklist, you will either sign-in with Sandia HR in person, virtually, or at a remote site.
If you are reporting virtually or at one of our remote sites, ensure you are in contact with your manager and review your First Day Reporting Actions email. This email will provide guidance on how to access your onboarding checklist, which details how to report to work and engage with HR to submit your employment information. Virtual hires may be contacted the week prior to their start date to ensure the I-9 New Hire Form is completed accurately.

Getting connected is the first step to start exploring information on Sandia’s intranet called Inside. You should have received your passwords, credentials, and/or computing equipment to connect to Sandia’s IT network by your first day. Contact your hiring manager or administrative professional if you have not received your credentials.
Sandia’s Welcome Booklet will help you prepare to attend the New Employee Orientation session and will provide more information about the following: general Sandia guidance, various resources, and quick contacts applicable to all Sandians.
Review your onboarding checklist that provides information about your required participation in New Employee Orientation (NEO) during the sign-in process. You will complete orientation during your first week at Sandia virtually.
On your first day, Sandia HR will email virtual meeting links to your Sandia and personal email addresses to attend the required orientation sessions. We will provide about 15 minutes prior to the start of the orientation session to ensure you are able to connect virtually.
During orientation, you will learn more about Sandia, our general operations, how to enroll in benefits (if applicable) and a foundation of resources.
Visit the site-specific NEO agenda to learn more about the information you will be provided during orientation.
All NM and aligned remote site hires are required to attend NEO virtually during the first week. They should be shipped the week prior to your start date. This will help to ensure you are able to complete necessary Payroll actions as a new employee in HR Self Service.

Guidance will be provided on how to manually submit your documents to Payroll securely.
If you will be telecommuting or working virtually, work with your manager to complete the telecommute/virtual work eForm (internal link) within your first week of onboarding. This will ensure that your work and tax location are aligned. You must have access to Sandia’s internal web to complete this form.
