What You Need to Know
We hope to provide interns with information on how to secure safe and affordable housing. Sandia has engaged with various properties near the Albuquerque (NM) and Livermore (CA) sites, to determine housing options for student intern employees. Interns do have to make the necessary arrangements to secure housing prior to their internship. Before you commit to any housing agreement, be sure to ask about short-term (2-4 months) leasing options for summer or annual lease options for year-round employment. Ask about additional fees (e.g., application, deposit, premiums) that may be required as part of the agreement. As you make housing arrangements, inform the rental agent that you are an intern at Sandia National Laboratories, as this may provide discounts for some properties. See below short-term housing resources for interns at both our NM and CA site locations.
Disclaimer: Sandia National Laboratories does not prescreen, endorse, or assume any responsibility for housing vendors. We do not make any recommendations about and assume no responsibility for issues resulting with housing vendors or tenants.

Intern Housing Resources (Livermore, CA)
While some Sandia internships for summer 2024 will be remote, most interns will work on-site. If you need to relocate, we hope the following resources will be helpful as you find and secure your own housing.
General Housing Guidance:
Before you commit to any housing agreement, be sure to ask about short-term (2-4 months) leasing options and any additional fees (e.g., application, deposit, premiums) that may be required as part of the agreement. As you make housing arrangements, inform the rental agent that you are an intern at Sandia National Laboratories.
As you consider housing options, note that Livermore public transportation is limited. If you plan to use public transportation, we recommend reviewing the local routes and services (https://www.wheelsbus.com/ and www.BART.gov) to make sure they are sufficient before making any housing arrangements. If you have the option to bring a car, we recommend doing so. A bike may be sufficient within Livermore.
Disclaimer: Sandia National Laboratories does not prescreen, endorse, or assume any responsibility for housing vendors. We make no recommendations about and assume no responsibility for problems with housing providers.
