What you need to know
Starting a new career at Sandia is an exciting journey! We have a wealth of resources to help you prepare for your first day. Your Sandia HR team will ensure that you have a successful onboarding experience.
Sign-in with Sandia HR on your first day
If you are reporting virtually or at one of our remote sites, ensure you are in contact with your manager and review your First Day Reporting Instructions email. This email will provide guidance on how to access your onboarding checklist, which details how to report to work and engage with HR to submit your employment information. Virtual hires may be contacted the week prior to their start date to ensure the New Hire Form I-9 is completed accurately.
Prepare for your first day by reviewing your NEO Check-In Guidance steps. Your HR Team will assist you in the check-in process.

Connect to Sandia IT; helpful resources
Getting connected is the first step to start exploring information on Sandia’s intranet, called Inside. You should have received your USB credential and either Sandia computing equipment or a virtual desktop account to connect to Sandia’s IT network by your first day. Contact your hiring manager or administrative professional if you have not received these items.
Connect with your IT Buddy:
The New Employee Support Team (NEST) will be your IT Support for your first week of employment at Sandia. A NEST technician will be your personal IT Buddy, offering you one-on-one support for all IT support (including getting connected offsite), questions, or issues.
Note: You will have very limited access to internal Sandia systems until your second day. If you cannot access certain websites on your first day, try again on your second day.
Review your Welcome to Sandia booklet
Sandia’s Welcome Booklet will help you prepare to attend the New Employee Orientation session and will provide more information about the following: general Sandia guidance, various resources, and quick contacts applicable to all Sandians.
Attend New Employee Orientation (NEO)
Sandia offers a hybrid orientation experience with new employees attending onsite, virtually, or at a remote lab site, depending upon your onboarding type. Your onboarding checklist will provide information about your required participation in New Employee Orientation (NEO).
New Employee Orientation is required for all employees.
Visit the site-specific NEO agenda to learn more about the information you will be provided during orientation.
