If you are presenting, follow these steps:
- Preferred Method: Email the presentation to the hosting manager and contact person prior to your interview. They will prepare the presentation on a computer and projector for you.
- Alternate Method: If you wish to bring your personal laptop computer or computer media, please coordinate this activity with the hosting manager and contact person in order to obtain required authorization prior to your visit.
If you’ll be traveling from out-of-town:
Sandia’s travel provider, TRC Global Mobility, will be contacting you to counsel and coordinate all aspects of travel and expenses in relations to your interview. For questions regarding your travel, lodging, meals and expense reimbursements, please contact TRC Global Mobility at 1-800-783-5337.

Obtain your visitor badge.
You’ll obtain a visitor badge at the Sandia Badge Office, located at:

The Badge Office opens at 7:15 a.m. each day.
Important: Sandia National Laboratories requires visitors to present government-issued identification for access to its facilities. State-issued driver’s licenses or ID cards from REAL ID non-compliant states will only be accepted to obtain a badge for access to Sandia if accompanied by an alternate form of ID such as a Social Security Card or a birth certificate.
Non-US citizens must present their passport and current immigration status documents for identification purposes. Immigration status documents include your visa, I-94 card, I-797 notice of approval, I-20, or other documents verifying that you are lawfully present in the United States. If you have questions about what documents to bring, please contact Brian Albarado at bpalbar@sandia.gov. Unfortunately, Sandia cannot provide site access without verification of your lawful status documents.
Obtain access to Kirtland Air Force Base (KAFB).
Sandia National Laboratories has offices located both on and off Kirtland Air Force Base (KAFB). Please confirm your interview location with your hosting manager or contact person and make arrangements to get to your interview location.
If your interview will be on KAFB, your host will request a Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) pass for you. Be sure to pick-up your DBIDS pass prior to your interview at the DBIDS office, which is located in Room 2161 of the IPOC Building.
After picking up your DBIDS pass, you will enter KAFB through the Eubank Gate. Be prepared to present your Sandia visitor badge and DBIDS pass to the Security Officer at the gate. You may also be asked to show your driver’s license or state-issued ID card, vehicle registration, proof of insurance and rental car agreement, if applicable. Depending on the level of base security at the time, you may also be asked to provide a second picture ID. Hand-held cell phone use while driving on KAFB is prohibited. Cell phones are prohibited within Sandia’s restricted areas. Please refer to the list of Prohibited Articles at Sandia.

- Please note our badge office is not accessible via public transportation. If you were planning to travel to Sandia via public transportation (i.e., bus system), please work with your host to make alternative transportation arrangements. We apologize for the inconvenience.
- Important: Sandia National Laboratories requires visitors to present government-issued identification for access to its facilities. State-issued driver’s licenses or ID cards from REAL ID non-compliant states will only be accepted to obtain a badge for access to Sandia if accompanied by an alternate form of ID such as a Social Security Card or a birth certificate. If your driver’s license states “Federal Limits Apply” or “Not for Federal Identification” (or different variations per state), you will need to bring an alternate form of ID from the options above. A current U.S. passport may be used as an acceptable form of ID.
- Visitor parking is available immediately in front of the new Visitor Badge Office. If there are no visitor spaces available, feel free to park in any non-restricted parking area.
- It is highly recommended for you to wear comfortable shoes as Sandia is a large campus and your interview may involve walking to several locations around the site.
- If your interview schedule extends from the morning through the afternoon, your hosting department will make arrangements for lunch.
