Albuquerque International Folk Dance Foundation

Learn to folk dance with the Albuquerque International Folk Dance Federation (AIFDF).

AIFDF promotes international folk dancing plus education in folk dance and culture. They sponsor weekly dances that includes instruction and community dance participation.

Aurora Borealis Glassworks

Aurora Borealis Glassworks is a public access glass art school. We are happy to offer classes for beginners with no experience necessary.

We offer classes in every glass art application:

• glass blowing
• stained glass
• slumping
• fusing (aka kiln work)

We are offering 15% off that price to any Sandia employees!

We ask you to plan for three hours, class times vary depending on the number of students. Cotton shirts and closed toe shoes are recommended, as well as something to drink.

Duke City Square Dance Club

Duke City Square Dance Club may just have answers to some questions you’re asking, such as:

• Want something new and fun to do with your partner?
• Do you need motivation to get your steps in?
• Do you have a friend or parent that needs some social engagement and exercise?

Learn to square dance with the Duke City. This non-profit group dances weekly on Friday nights, holds open house events that are free to the public and has 14-week square dance lessons twice a year.  Ages 8 and older are welcome to join in this family-friendly atmosphere. No partners are needed.  Mention Sandia Labs to get your first night of class free.

Dances are Fridays at the Albuquerque Square Dance Center, 4915 Hawkins, NE from 7-9 p.m. Free Open House nights run throughout the year with the next one on Nov. 21.

Dance lessons are Thursdays, also from 7-9 p.m. Get your first class free when you mention that you are from Sandia. Fall class start Aug. 21; the Spring class begins Jan. 8, 2026.
